1st annual arts & crafts bazaar held at the Wellness Center went very well. Albeit a little tight in space, vendors and buyers managed to make it happen. Thank you all for supporting your local vendors.

Three Weeks Away and Wow!
Where there is loss there is discovery...
Recently lost my mother to lung cancer, she fought this for five years. As most of these events do, they bring those that we may have lost in our lives back together...for me it was one in particular, cousin Bobby. Not only to reconnect with someone who you haven't seen in over 40 years but to share the same passion. I discovered his passion for creating ipus and in such a short period learned a lot. Unfortunately my last days in Hawaii was spent nursing a stomach virus that negated me from learning more from this skilled craftsman.

Wet weather projects
Limited progress due to the inclement weather, I was able to get some drawing, painting and gouging done on my most recent projects. I started with the Honu connected by a tribal band non-conventional style...gouged until the rains came. Next on the list is this Hibiscus vase, I need to work the shadows and paint details then gouge this as well. I'm hoping for my new tool to arrive, more like a dentist drill than your typical dremel tool. And more recently, I just burned this tonight, Koi Pond, not sure if I'm going to add the lily pads and flowers...hopefully on all three projects once the rain ceases, I'll charge out there and get to carving.
